At 10:00 am, the first tour of AGTAD was flagged off from the school by our very dear and respected Principal. Dr. Mrs. Shayama Chona in the presence of Mrs Pushpa Agarwal, Headmistress ASK. It was a cold wintry morning with the fog refusing to clear off. There were twelve children from different classes of ASK, seven girls and five boys. They were accompanied by a teacher. I also had my sister, Neelanjana Gupta(IX – H) and my brother, Manavendra Gupta(VI – K) along with me. They assisted me in managing the trip and with the handycam and the digital camera. We had the facility of my own Qualis car and one Maruti Van which was very kindly made available by the Principal for transportation.
All of us reached Akshardham temple at 11:00 am. It is a most recently built exquisite monument constructed by the Swami Narayan sect of Hindus on the banks of river Yamuna. It is an extremely beautiful temple which has lakhs of devotees from all over the world. It is located in the trans-Yamuna area. The children completed their tour, parikrama and darshan at the temple in about two hours. They were given literature, brochures and pamphlets about the temple. They were also served with refreshments at the end of the tour.
At 1:00 pm, we left the temple and safely arrived at the school. The Principal was good enough to meet us at the end of the trip and wish AGTAD many more similar trips.
