At 7:30 am, we took 13 students of different classes of ASK - 6 boys and 7 girls- and a teacher on an excursion to the tomb of the great Mughal emperor, Humayun. The tomb was built by the widow of Humayun. It is a world heritage site. We proceeded to the main monument where Humayun’s tomb lies. It is built in white stone. The tombs of many of his other family members (around 100) are also spread around his tomb.
There were beautiful lawns all around us with fountains. We went into the monument and saw the beautiful structures and massive doors leading to the magnificent tomb. All were built in the Mughal style. The students admired the architecture.
The tour took around two and a half hours. The students were served with refreshments before they left the monument for school. They were back in school by 11 am.
