Earth Day

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”.

Every year since 1970, 22nd April is commended as World Earth Day to exhibit support for the well-being of the Earth and raise awareness about environmental protection.

Students of Nursery, Prep and class 1 celebrated with a week full of activities like the musical puppet show, nature walk, colouring competition, video clippings and art and craft activities with their hand prints, reiterating the importance of the Earth day. Classes 2 and 3 had discussions and sang various songs on mother Earth.They also segregated waste material for decomposition.Class 3 also reinforced the above by switching off lights and planting saplings.

Students of class 4 and 5 held an interactive session on how to make paper mache. Children were made aware of this alternative technique to reuse and recycle paper.An intra section competition on Reuse, Recreate for sustainability was organized.They Reused old t-shirts in a creative way, painting and pasting patches.

Andy Warhol once said, “Earth really is the best art.” It has now become our prerogative to save our planet, because if not us, then who? There might not be a next generation to rely on.

Class 1 Orientation 2023-24

Venue – Respective Classrooms

Teachers on duty – 16 (11CTs + 3 On Duty Teachers for Ushering+ 2 Transport In charges)

Class I parents were invited to attend the orientation for the session
2023 -24, on 6 April 2023. Stationery and dispersal transport cards were
collected. The Orientation began with self-introduction by the class teachers
followed by video presentation showcasing the previous year 2022-23 activities
and achievements. Then the class teachers apprised the parents with the salient
points.

The Headmistress, Ms. Vinita Gupta, the Supervisor Ms. Astha Pradhan and Class I
Rep Ms. Rati Dar addressed the parents by visiting each classroom and
encouraged the parents to teach children the life skills like punctuality, becoming
more independent and self – reliant.

Mass Assembly

Date: 10.04.2023

Students of classes 5 and 4 attended the Mass Assembly conducted by the PE department.
The Headmistress and the Supervisor addressed the students explaining the importance of discipline, cleanliness and class conduct.
Children were made aware of the ways to stand during mass drill.This was followed by exercises to enhance their flexibility and coordination skills.
The assembly concluded with the singing of the School Anthem and National Anthem.

Orientation 2023-24 Class IV

Date – 11th April 2023

Venue – Class IV Classrooms

Time   – 02:00 pm – 03:00 pm

Teachers on duty –

Headmistress, Supervisors, Rep of class 4, all class teachers, and subject teachers of class 4.

Ushering – 2 teachers

Transport In charges -  2 teachers

Parents of Class 4 attended the orientation session which started with the headmistress apprising them of punctuality, inculcating life skills, the assessment pattern for the year according to NEP, and the importance of developing effective learning habits for the betterment of the students.

The supervisor discussed some important points on the arrival and dispersal of students.

The Rep and Class teachers took up important life skills that are an essential part of a child’s holistic development. School rules and protocols were reiterated for a clear understanding.

The session was continued by the subject teachers, explaining the requirement for notebooks and how the subject is being approached in the class. The nuances of each subject taught were explained to the parents.

Toward the end of the session, parental queries were taken up successfully.

Orientation 2023-24 Class III

Date- 13.04.2023

Venue- Block B

Time- 2 pm – 3 pm

Teachers on duty-

Headmistress, Supervisors, Rep of class 3, all class teachers, and subject teachers of Class III.

Ushering – 2 teachers

Transport In charges – 2 teachers

Parents of class III attended the orientation session which started with a video showing the activities and events that were done in the previous academic session.

The Rep and the class teachers spoke about Life Skills and general rules to be followed by the children.

The headmistress apprised the parents of punctuality, discipline, inculcating life skills, the assessment pattern for the year according to NEP, and the importance of developing effective learning habits for the betterment of the students.

The supervisor discussed some important points on the arrival and dispersal of the students.

The subject teachers were introduced by the class teachers and then each one of them spoke about handling of books and notebooks, assessment structure and nuances of each subject taught was also explained to the parents.

At the end, parental queries were taken up successfully.

Graduation Day – Nursery

World Health Day

An Interactive Session on WORLD HEALTH DAY (2023 – 24)

‘Healthy living’ involves not only physical health but also mental and emotional health. They are closely linked to each other and thus a change in one affects the other.

The theme of this year’s World Health Day is – “Health for all”.

Amid the ongoing pandemic and pollution growing on the planet, various lifestyle diseases are increasing rapidly. Thus, WHO aims to focus global attention on the urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy.

Keeping this in mind on 6th April 2023, class IV students attended a talk by Jasmine Maggo (Art teacher, DPS VV) discussing the ways to deal with emotions and how they affect our mental and physical being. Students enjoyed the talk and enthusiastically participated in the fun activities.

Children carried with them a self-care sheet where various emotions and activities were written for the children to follow and practice in their daily life.
