Message from the Principal
It is with great honor and pleasure that I invite your school to participate in the 5th annual DPS Model United Nations Conference, a Global Classroom Project of UNA-USA sponsored by Merrill Lynch office of Global Philanthropy.
DPSMUN offers a diverse group of young participants a forum for discussing global concerns in a context that closely parallels the "real world." Students from all over the world, work zealously to propose resolutions addressing regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, economic and social development, and the environment. DPSMUN program provides students with a better understanding of the inner working of the United Nations as they build skills in diplomacy and international understanding.
Over the years DPSMUN Conferences have achieved great success and doubled its numbers with respect to the committees being simulated, participating delegates & schools. This year we shall be simulating 10 Committees including a committee that will deliberate in Hindi. DPSMUN 2008 will feature an increased number of smaller committees, to ensure a more intimate committee experience with far more opportunities for participation, and the support of an elite executive staff.
The DPSMUN Conference will be held from the 22nd - 24th November 2008, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Students from Classes IX - XII are invited to participate. We will also hold a training program on the 23rd & 24th August 2008 at Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram. Two students and one teacher are invited to attend the training program, which will also include training the teachers to start a MUN conference in their local communities.
